COMMUNITY SERVICE INITIATIVE PROJECT
The community-based services in this project are to allow students to be exposed to the
real-community living in real-life situation. The students are to work together as a team of 5-6 members for
architectural, culture, and environmental enhancing activities where to create a specific portable and tangible product to the respective community. We have chosen the theme of Survival Kit or
Comfort living
amenities for
vulnerable
community which we need to attached to the homeless community majority that provide their specific needs and requirement on a selected place. We at first selected the site in Petaling street where there is a lot of homeless people stay around at the area but at last we changed to a homeless shelter in Jalan Pahang that changed the idea of our product from a shelter to a resting garden which is become more special than others.
I have learnt on how to develop relevant communication skills for collaborative work with community that will make contributions to society with a strong sense of social responsibility and being able to work effectively as a team to complete the finalist product for the respective community. Getting to help the community by creating something useful for them makes us feeling satisfied and happy to help the people in need. Learning on the skill of being attached the real life community makes me understand the need of being appreciated on what we have and what we obtained.
We will be executing
their respective CSI Project
with a SWOT analysis to
understand the Strength,
Weaknesses, Opportunities
and Threats and starting to design an initial idea on the product that wanted to do for the homeless community.
