Project 1A On-Site Sketching
In this project, we decided to have a sketch at the site which is at the Taylor's University. At the beginning, our tutor brought us to the Taylor's Lakeside to have a site sketching to understand the notion of space in architecture and develop our skills in visualizing of space through observation and perception of a given site. We have to produce at least 5 sketches with some annotations at the Taylor's University and pictures above show the sketches that I have done at the site visit. I have included some shading to increase the reality of the sketches.
Project 1B Tonal Values
HATCHING
SCRIBBLING
STIPPLING
CROSSHATCHING
This assignment is created to develop one’s skills in creating a depth and tone on a sketch, and thus refining and enhancing the ability to produce an architectural sketch that is legible. There will be four type of skills that are known well in sketching which are hatching, scribbling, stippling and crosshatching. Different kind of techniques bring different kind of sketching effect. As you can see from the pictures above shows the techniques of sketches that I have learnt through this assignment. From this assignment, I have learnt on developing skills in communicating the above in various tonal and depth values and various type of techniques of hatching with different media.
Project 2
Project 2A Orthographic Projections
FLOOR PLAN
FRON ELEVATION
BACK EVELATION
LEFT ELEVATION
RIGHT ELEVATION
SECTION A-A
SECTION B-B
In this project, we decided to draw the floorplan, front, back, left and right elevation, and also two cross section view of the Barcelon Pavilion. At first, we have to know the measurements of the Barcelona Pavilion building before we start to draw. Our tutors have divided to several part to be completed in the several weeks so that we could complete on time and would not be rushing at the last moment. We also been taught on how to use the technique pens to differentiate the lines of the buildings so that we could know the inner and outerof the buildings. Through this project, I have learnt on how to demonstrate drafting skills in modern and traditional methods of architectural drawing, identify and apply architectural conventions and symbols and demonstrate in pencil and ink, examples of line types, line weights, line quality and architectural lettering.
Project 2B Axonometric Projections
Project 2C Perspectives
After mastering the skills in drawing the Axonometric drawing, we decided to draw the one point and two point perspectives if the Barcelona Pavilion buildings. Our tutor have taught on how to draw the perspectives drawing by using floor plan of the building and it is easily to master the technique of drawing perspectives well. From this project, I have learn on how to how to draw a building in one-point and two-point perspectives and apply the basic principles of perspective drawing to express spatial ideas and architectural detail in the three-dimension by using pencil and technique pens to differentiate the line types, line weights, line quality and architectural lettering for this project.
In this final project, we will have to apply the skills and techniques that learnt from the Project 1 and 2 and to be the best represent and communicate our final design idea. The requirements of this assignment are as same as the final project of the Architectural Design Studio 1 which is a 1:50 scale model and three information A2 Board. Through this project, we got to identify appropriate types of architectural drawings, sketches and models that helps in representing your own idea and design in its form and space. We also have to illustrate own design’s form and space through selected types of architectural drawings, sketches and models, And, we have to produce architectural ideas through the 2D and 3D technical drawings, and a final model which represented the ideas of space and form that designed by yourself with a suitable theme for your specific client.
