Representing Place

Project 1: Writing Research Proposal and Experiencing + Capturing Space

Project 1 is divided into two session which is Project 1a (Writing Research Proposal) and Project 1b (Experience & Capture).  In preparation for the site visit, we have to develop a proposal related to the topic selected under some chosen areas. We have chosen Hybrid morphology which is meant by transition or overlapping between old and new architecture and culture, new interventions as our topic for the whole assignment. During the study tour, we also have to take some photos and document them into a photo book. We also decided to sketch some experiences based on the theme chosen at the site selections. It can be a story line or other methods in diagramming and annotating the sketches through the understanding of the site.

Those are the images of photo-book that we have taken in the site.

Link above shows the list of sketches that we have drawn based on the topic selected in the specific areas.

Project 2: Analysis and Interpretation

We are required to analyze and interpret the documentation that we have gathered in the study tour and turned out into a research poster which showed the creative and organized manner or format of data documentation. Each individual interpretation and analysis should focus on the topic assigned.Through this assignment, I could analyze and interpret the urban and cultural facets of the city in relation to architecture and the built environment.

Project 3: Re-Presenting Place

In this project, we decided to translate the research from the project 2 into a visual representation and transform into a form of a creative production fro the exhibition purpose and present the interpretation.

Those are the pictures of model that I have created based on the theme Immersed.

Related with the theme selected in project 2 which is Crossing the Past to Present, I have specifically define the words Immersed into the model that I have designed which is related with the old architecture that have been stayed under the tall and modern architecture which could not been found clearer in somewhere else but they are still there.
