PROJECT 1: FAMOUS PEOPLE, FAMILIAR FACES DIAGRAMMATIC ABSTRACTION

At the beginning of this project, we have been briefed that we have to complete around three type of different project based on groups and individual. In a group of five or six members, we decided to choose one of the masters of modern architecture and their building before we proceed to another step. After our small discussion, we decided to to choose the Villa Stein De Monzie that is designed by Le Corbusier. Next, we have to make around ten above different type of concept models based on the building that we chose with the proper set of scaled drawings. There is around ten above of concepts that we investigate from the internet and books about the building. Through this project, I have learned that on how to explore the spaces from the making of architectural elements. Not only that, I would be able to understand the application of idea and concept based on a building.

PROJECT 2A: INTRODUCTION TO STIE ANALYSIS + PICNIC PAVILION PORT DICKSON

We have been to the Port Dickson for 3 days 2 nights for having a real site analysis by ourselves that should be used on our following project. In a group of two, we decided to look after a suitable site at the surrounding that is well comfortable to your client's picnic pavilion. The client that we choose in the beginning is Gordon Ramsay, the hot tempered famous chef. From this project, we decided to create a picnic pavilion that is suitable for him to be relax in the spaces from the daily busy life based on the previous concepts of Le Corbusier on the Villa Stein De Monzie. We have chose the cooncept of repetition and rhythm as we think they are the most obvious concepts from the Villa Stein De Monzie. Through this project, I am able to generate structure, form and space through architectural conceptualisation with the emphasis on the user requirement, ergonomics and site responding to develop an architectural proposition.

PROJECT 2B: BEACH HOUSE PORT DICKSON

After going through the previous project, coming the last project with creation of beach house based on the previously chosen client and suitable to the selected site surrounding. Project 2b extends the understanding of design concept and process. It introduces the notion of architectural space making through the design of a user specific architectural scheme. This project explores the relationship between architectural tectonics, function and space in architecture. I have designed the beach house based on the concept of seasonable or dynamics. The beach house contains three different size of volume emphasizes different important purposes of spaces that is required by the client with an overhang roof that reduce the hot temperature of the site. Through this project, I am able to understand the user specific design requirements, the notions of space, form and function in architectural design. Besides, I also get to focus on the awareness of site specific design and the process of site analysis.
